May 2, 2004. The rendezvous point was Cottonwood Falls

The crowd was a little thin Saturday. Jeff Roth from Hutchinson came in on his KTM 620 RXC and Larry McGillivary from Manhattan on his Suzuki DR 350s. We met at the Emma Chase cafe before starting our ride.

We started out going southwest of Cottonwood Falls, finding one short section of road with five stream crossings. We road towards Clements and photographed a old abandoned limestone bridge. We circled around through Elmdale on our way back to Cottonwood Falls for fuel and a break.

In the afternoon, we headed northeast from Cottonwood Falls up to Lake Kahola, we then rode east, making our way to Diamond Springs. We headed back south on Diamond Creek road, going through Hymer Station, Rockland, and Neva.

Total miles for the day was 130, it was a little breezy but the Flint Hills are always a great getaway. The GPS was really helpful on this trip since we covered a lot of country neither of us had ridden before.
