October 18, 2003 - A colorful day well spent in the Flint Hills of Elk County. Seven of us rode to the rendezvous in Beaumont, Kansas. Wil Locke of Derby rode in on his XR650R. Dennis Murray rode from Conway Springs on his KLR650, and Kenneth Meyer rode his KLR650 from Goddard. Riding in from the Wichita area were; Randy Treece - BMW R1150 GS, Elinor Pyle - Suzuki SP200, Steve Starkel - Husqvarna TE610E, and Roger Baugh - KLR650. The day was simply outstanding. Temperatures were near perfect, we had some washed out roads and water crossings to keep us alert. And, the changing Fall colors were vibrant. 'Nuff said! Click on a thumbnail to view a larger image.
